Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed III "a great time" for newcomers to join the series

Ubisoft UK managing director Rob Cooper has said Assassin's Creed III will fit in perfectly with those who'll be coming to the series for the first time.

The game is the fifth installment in the series, but the first actual sequel since 2009's Assassin's Creed II. Nonetheless, Cooper remains optimistic this is a perfect time for newcomers to get involved.

"This is a great time for gamers to join the adventure,” Cooper told MCV. “There’s a huge will from Ubisoft to bring more gamers into this universe.

“Assassin’s Creed III is the biggest and most ambitious launch in Ubisoft’s history so we absolutely believe this game will continue to grow the franchise.”

Cooper also said the title will still be able to compete with the big boys also due out in the busy autumn season, regardless if the new title is slotted at the end of October rather than November.

"This is a huge investment for us and we’re extremely confident that together, all these factors will put us in pole position to compete against the other titles this Xmas."

Assassin's Creed III comes out on October 31 for PS3, 360 and PC. A Wii U version is also in development.
