Blizzard is set to release a new Starcraft II mod encouraging players to up their multiplayer game.

Called Starcraft Master, the single-player custom game mod includes 30 challenge scenarios. Described as “fiendish”, the challenges are designed to teach players how to cope in the kinds of situations multiplayer matches regularly throw up.

Players can tackle the challenges in any order and access hints when things get too tough. New achievements reward those who power through.

“These fun and demanding challenges range from “kiting” a single unit, to managing incoming damage and maximizing unit abilities, to controlling a mix of units to obtain victory over a superior enemy force,” the blog noted.

The mod is expected to hit custom game lists within the next few days.
