Resident Evil series producer Masachika Kawata has said he’s motivated to make a third 3DS title in the series.

Kawata’s comments in an interview with IGN follow the positive reaction for Revelations last month. The first game in the series to arrive on 3DS was The Mercenaries last year.

But he said that he’s focussed on other projects inside the company before he can move onto other things.

“The incredibly positive fan reaction to Revelations has definitely given me motivation to make another 3DS RE title,” said Kawata.

“I have some ideas in mind. However, I have a lot of other projects that need to be taken care of first.”

He continued: “Hearing players say how much they enjoyed Revelations does kind of make me want to forget the other projects and get stuck right into making another RE game for fans to enjoy.”

Kawata’s main focus is to support the main development team of Resident Evil 6, which launches on November 20 for PS3 and 360.
