The Amazing Spider-Man includes playable Stan Lee

Legendary Marvel comics creator Stan Lee will appear as a playable character in The Amazing Spider-Man.

"Oh, I'm going to be a playable character. I'm going to be a character in that game," Lee told Addict Of Fiction.

His assistant confirmed the game in question is Beenox's upcoming release, expected in late June on 3DS, DS, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360.

The prolific creative is well-known for his cameos and appearances in all sorts of comics-related media, turning up as extras in Marvel films and even appearing as himself in comics and cartoons, but this seems to be the first time he has ever appeared as a playable character.

Lee said he doesn't play video games himself but seemed quite pleased about his playable debut. Watch him make the reveal below, PR schedules be damned.

Lee was a key creative force behind Spider-Man; Avengers; Daredevil; the Fantastic Four; The Incredible Hulk and The X-Men as well as having a marked influence on many other Marvel titles and the Marvel universe in general.
