More Diablo III console hints spotted in Blizzard recruiting

Once again, Blizzard's recruitment process points steadily at an upcoming console version of Diablo III.

Ripten noted Blizzard's recent posting of multiple new job ads on Gamasutra, noting this "senior software engineer console network" in particular.

The position is described as a "key contributor on the Diablo team" and "responsible for ensuring the best implementation of sophisticated networking systems on consoles". PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are specifically mentioned.

Blizzard has made no secret of the fact that it's investigating the possibility of a console version of the upcoming RPG, but has repeatedly pointed out that hiring staff for an initial production is not confirmation it will actually happen. That said, the developer is "very, very serious" about the possibility, and feels the game is "suited to consoles". The company is taking the possibility of expansion onto consoles more seriously than ever before.

Diablo III is due for release on PC in the second quarter.
