Trion seeks Guinness World Record for virtual marriages

Shifting beyond the usual "get X items from Y" questing model, RIFT will be allowing players to marry in game - complete with a Valentines Day event to kick it off.

As stated on Trion's website, "Any players who get married between 9am PST on Feb. 14 and 9am PST on Feb. 15 will be logged by the Guinness Book of World Records - note that you must still be married by the end of the event to be counted". One can only assume they don't want to hold the Guinness World Record for virtual divorce as well.

Aside from the usual cross-faction restriction (one can only assume there were political and cultural problems when deciding upon who would act as celebrant), there are no issues when picking your virtual betrothed - character class, race, and gender are not a factor.

If you decide to join in with the event, Trion will happily provide the Valentine’s Day character title, "Tier of Knots" to help complete your collection of achievements.
