One player left his PC recording video of the last, celebratory gasps of Star Wars Galaxies as the venerable MMORPG shuttered forever.
The Finnish player had to leave for work before the official shut off time, so set his character to AFK and left recording on.
The eleven minute video shows a player-organised gathering in front of Mos Eisley Starport, which the uploader claims attracted more players than a developer-run event at the Great Pit of Carkoon.
The numerous on-screen characters and constant fireworks necessitated a few performance sacrifices to ensure the footage would be comprehensible, and even so the frame rate stutters with the sheer numbers of farewell revelers.
Star Wars Galaxies launched in June, 2003 and closed last Friday following a climactic civil war.
