Pokémon x Nobunaga's Ambition unveiled

That new Pokémon announcement which was teased in Japan dropped over the weekend, and it's better than we could have hoped for.

A collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Tecmo Koei, Pokémon x Nobunga's Ambition combines the popular RPG with a series of historically-inspired strategy games, in what looks like a turn-based tactics RPG.

Andriasang reports the game is expected on DS in northern spring in Japan, with - let's face it - not much chance of a Western release.

The game pairs up famous historical generals with Pokémon partners, including such classic buddies as Nobunaga Oda and Zekrom; Mitsuhide Akechi and Articuni; Shingen takeda and Groudon; and Kenshin Uesugi and Mewtwo. Players control an original character, and seem to be given an Eevee as default.

It's not clear whether Coro Coro Comics' planned January reveal is also for Pokémon x Nobunaga's Ambition.

Gaze in fascination on the debut trailer below, and join me in being constantly delighted by this industry.
