Cryptic details Season 5 update for Star Trek Online

Cryptic's gone live with a blog post detailing Star Trek Online's latest major update, Season 5: Call to Ruin.

As part of the MMO's transition to F2P, the latest update sees the introduction of a new ground-combat action map called Borg Invasion of Defera, revised Borg STF maps, lore missions, revamped patrol missions, an event calendar and storyline improvements.

There also various other gameplay boosts, as well as typical polishing and facelifts for both the tutorial and social connectivity.

Testing for the update is ongoing. Star Trek Online goes free to play next January.
