UK charts: BF3 fends off UC3 despite 54 percent sales drop

Battlefield 3, despite a 54 percent drop in sales from launch week, has managed to hold off Uncharted 3 at the top of the UK charts.

Another bit of consolation for EA, despite the sales drop, is it's the first time a Battlefield has held onto the top spot for more than one weeks. The last BF game to be number one, Bad Company 2, was kicked off the summit a week after launch by Final Fantasy XIII last March.

Despite a heavy and agressive advertising push from Sony, the Naughty Dog epic sequel must settle for second. UC3's launch is the 11th biggest for PS3 ever in the UK, with sales up 37 percent from Uncharted 2 in 2009.

Sonic Generations enters the top ten at the bottom end of it. Goldeneye: Reloaded for PS3 and 360 enters at 16.

Top ten for the week ending November 5 is below. Last week's data is here.

  • 1 - Battlefield 3
  • 2 - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
  • 3 - FIFA 12
  • 4 - Batman: Arkham City

  • 6 - Football Manager 2012
  • 7 - Forza Motorsport 4
  • 8 - Zumba Fitness
  • 9 - Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures
