European PSN maintenance on Thursday

Bad news for European Uncharted fans - the PlayStation Network will be taken offline for several hours on Thursday evening.

The downtime is scheduled for 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM BST on Thursday, November 4, although testing maybe keep some services offline after the maintenance window ends.

During the outage players will be unable to sign into the PSN, access the PlyStation Store or account management, and use the PS Sign In on the Sony Entertainment Network.

Players who are already signed in before the downtime begins may find themselves signed out.

No explanation was given for the maintenance time, but the timing is somewhat unfortunate; highly anticipated PS3 exclusive Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception launches on November 2 in Europe, and is intended to be the "go to" for PS3 multiplayer.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
