DOTA 2 beta invites open to friends, survey participants

Valve is sending out a prolific round of DOTA 2 beta invites, and you have two more opportunities to get your name on the list.

As detailed on the DOTA 2 blog, if you've previously volunteered to participate, you may already have an invite; restarting your Steam client may reveal a notifcation awaiting your approval.

For everyone else, you can register your unflagging interest by taking Valve's survey - click here to open it through your Steam client.

On top of that, Valve is running a kind of secret society beta invite scheme, where every beta tester can create a new cell of resistance. I mean, get their buddies on board.

"We wanted to make sure everyone we invited could bring a couple of friends – so everyone who receives Dota 2 will be given two extra copies that they can hand out to whomever they’d like," the blog generously offered.

"You’ll find your extra copies in the Steam section of your Steam account’s item inventory, and you can use the Steam Trading feature to give them to your friends."

DOTA 2 is Valve's free-to-play take on the growing MOBA genre, based on the original Warcraft III mod that started it all - Defence of the Ancients. It's expected to launch on both Mac and PC in 2012.
