Deep Silver promises Dead Island console patch "as soon as we can"

Deep Silver has refused to commit to a release date for the console version of the latest PC patch, but promised to hurry.

"We're going to work on getting the update out as soon as we can - hurrying it along too fast will just give us a bad patch," Deep Silver information officer Aubrey Norris told VG247.

Plagued by requests for a date, Norris commented on Twitter that any date the publisher announces could cause even more fan anger.

"People put so much pressure on devs to announce specific release dates and then when something happens to change that they just rage again," she said, adding:

"I've seen tons of instances of fan rage when devs [announce delays]. 'Oh it needs more time? It must be s**t then.'"

The PC patch, which brings the game to version 1.3, released on the weekend, addressing a number of concerns including instability and buggy quests. Eurogamer has the full patch notes.
