Shank 2 to have double the animation

The team of professional animators at Klei has increased its output for Shank 2.

"The goal here was to blow away our previous fidelity and set a new bar for ourselves," Klei co-founder Jamie Cheng wrote on the US PS Blog.

"To do that, we doubled the resolution of all the source character art to push the graphic novel style, adding a huge amount of extra detail to the environment and even doubling the amount of animation in the game."

In addition to a co-op mode, Klei is adding more destructible and interactive environments as well as the ability to use enemies' weapons - sometimes before they've let go of them - and a 360 degree friing range.

Shank 2 is due on console networks next year. Check out a teaser trailer for the game below.
