Sony: "Ask Capcom," if you want to know why Monster Hunter 4 isn't on Vita

SCEJ president Hiroshi Kawano has quipped that if you want to know the reason why Monster Hunter 4 is not heading to Vita, "ask Capcom."

Speaking with Reuters at TGS 2011, Kawano said he didn't know why the popular handheld title was only announced for 3DS and not Sony's newest handheld, especially when previous iterations of the Monster Hunter helped sell bucket loads of PSP units in Japan in the past.

The market was asking the same thing on Tuesday, shares in Capcom fell after the title was announced for 3DS.

However, Sony Worldwide president Shuhei Yoshida believes Monster Hunter 4 is still possible for Vita, as "most large game publishers operate on a multiplatform basis."

Maybe Capcom is just not ready to announce it, yet.

Vita releases in Japan on December 17.

The presentation trailer for Monster Hunter 4 is below, and you can watch the teaser trailer shown at TGS through here.
