Final Fantasy XIII-2 to feature time travel system

Definitely not kidding.

Dengeki PlayStation has said in its latest issue that a time travel system is included in Final Fantasy XIII-2, calling it central to the game's story.

It comes as one of the main characters within the game, Noel, was revealed to be from the future as the last human in existence last week.

The magazine seems to suggest you'll be able to travel through time freely with the system through the Historiacross system. Through it, you can use a gate in each area of the game once activated. Once that's done, you'll be able to select either the location or era to go to.

Dengeki also spilled proper details on what Lightning's story is all about. She's now a knight that protects the shrine of the goddess Etro in Valhalla, basically becoming someone near like a deity.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases next year in the west, with a Japanese release in December, for PS3 and 360.

Thanks, Andriasang.
