Zelda: Four Swords free for all

The co-op multiplayer add-on to the GBA version of A Link to the Past will be released in September via Nintendo's eShop, for free.

Zelda: Four Swords will be made available as DSiWare to all 3DS and DSi owners via the eShop, as part of celebrations marking the 25 year history of the Zelda franchise.

The multiplayer game started life as an added-extra in the 2002 GBA remake of A Link to the Past and was later made into a separate retail release for GameCube as The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure.

In addition, Nintendo has confirmed 3DS Virtual Console versions of Metroid II: Return of Samus and Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins by the end of the year.
