The 9 million strong Trackmania player pool means the upcoming Trackmania 2 Canyon multiplayer beta is essential.

According to ManiaPlanet, the beta kicks off on August 17 at 6:00 pm EDT.

If you pre-order the game, which goes for $24.99 or £19.99, you’ll be able to preload and have instant access to the multiplayer beta, map editor, and mediatracker video editor. Pre-order packages will automatically unlock the full game on launch day.

Trackmania 2 Canyon is the first in a planned series of releases under the Trackmania 2 banner. Canyon is the flagship for Ubisoft’s ManiaPlanet network, which will collect a number of similar titles into one interconnected social system.

Canyon is expected in September.
