Nintendo has dismissed chatter that it’s to open a dedicated store in London, similar to the Nintendo World store in New York.

It follows claims from Nintendo Scene that Nintendo Japan director Toshiaki Suzuki was to meet with UK sales boss Karen Ionescu about the store, which would apparently open in two weeks along Oxford Street. Work on it supposedly started this past week.

But the company has said otherwise on the matter.

“This is purely rumour and speculation,” a Nintendo UK rep told VG247 in an email.

Nintendo already has a dedicated store open in New York, known as Nintendo World. It’s where the publisher holds its key headline launches in the US, such as 3DS earlier this year.
