Emissary of War revealed by ex-BioWare iOS dev

Former BioWare staffer Tobyn Manthorpe has gone into the iOS game with new studio Cedar Hill Games. Check out this teaser trailer for its first project, Emissary of War.

PocketGamer reports the dungeon crawler will be plot-driven and fully voiced, both unusual features in App Store fare.

"It takes a lot of work to breathe life into a virtual actor, but we're not shying away from it because we want players to have proper emotions about our characters," Manthorpe, whose credits include major roles on Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate, commented.

"We also feel like we've overcome the challenge of matching this style of game with the needs of the iOS gamer: intuitive controls and stop-and-go gameplay."

Emissary of War tells the story of a barbraian diplomat and his alchemist assistant on a diplomatic mission which goes horribly wrong. It's due on iPhone and iPad during northern summer. See the trailer below, plus a few screens found on Destructoid.
