The Monkey Island Special Edition Collection hitting Europe on September 9

Lucasarts has announced The Monkey Island Special Edition Collection for Europe, which will land at retail on September 9.

It includes The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition and Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge.

Both include new dialog recordings, enhanced controls, hand-drawn graphics, and a hint system.

Monkey Island 2 also includes an optional audio commentary from Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman.

Bonus content such as concept art and a soundtrack for both special editions will also be included. Concept art and storyboards from Industrial Light & Magic's never released, animated Monkey Island movie is also part of the package.

How much it will run you isn't known as of yet, nor whether it will North American retailers or not - but we'll ask.

It will be made available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
