Fat Princess dev team founds Carbon Games

Former staff of recently-closed Fat Princess developer Titan Studios have formed a new team called Carbon Games.

Joystiq reports the core members of the Epic Games China subsidiary formed a new studio when Titan Studios quietly shut up shop last month.

"Everyone that is starting Carbon is from Titan, but it's only about half of what was left," founder James Green said.

" ... We had actually been winding down Titan gracefully for a while. The longterm plan has always been for Epic Games China to exist on their own. We were just in a support/advisory role, which is why we never followed up Fat Princess with anything."

Carbon is said to be comfortably self-funded and working on modest PC games. The team's experience with Fat Princess seems to have turned them off console networks for the moment, with Green commenting that on PC, Carbon can "iterate and get player feedback faster and actually control the patching process."

The studio's first project, which will be a departure from Fat Princess' cartoon style, will be announced later this year.
