Heroes of Ruin to sport 80,000 weapons and StreetPass shops

N-Space is taking a leaf out of the Borderlands book by featuring a massive number of randomised weapons.

"We’ve got over 20,000 weapons per class, we’ve got a tremendous amount of content," producer Tim Schwalk told Siliconera.

"We have a really cool randomization system. As loot is dropped, based on a lot of different factors, it’ll actually configure them and put them all together.

"It’s similar to sort of what Borderlands did, you’ll see some similar things, but a lot of cool really different things."

The game features four classes, including the hardcore-friendly Gunslinger.

Since it's unlikely you'll find all 80,000 combinations, N-Space has included a neat-sounding StreetPass features. Whenever you swap information with passing players, any items they've discovered, which you haven't, will be automatically transferred to your in-game shop.

Heroes of Ruin is due on 3DS in early 2012.
