WoW: Cataclysm to launch in China next month

Blizzard's announced it's to release World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in China on July 12.

"We've always appreciated Chinese gamers' passion and support for World of Warcraft, and we're excited that they'll soon be able to enjoy all of the great new content this expansion has to offer," said Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime.

Cataclysm's Chinese release should help push WoW sub levels back to around the 12 million mark after Morhaime confirmed in the company's Q3 financial call back in May that it had decreased to 11.4 million subscriptions.

The timing of the launch is also an improvement, as noted by GI.biz. The expansion launches in the country seven months after it did in the west in December last year. It took 23 months to get previous expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, to release in China.
