Report: NGP is Sony's "future platform"

A Sony representative has reportedly refuted speculation that the PlayStation 4 is already in the works.
The spokesperson apparently told Ripten that a recent reference to a "future platform" meant the NGP, which will see full reveal at E3.
During Sony's latest financials, vice president Masuru Kato had said costs were already being incurred for a "future platform".
A new console generation is generally expected in around four years, which if accurate means Sony ought to have something brewing already - Microsoft is already hiring hardware engineers - but it looks like we'll have to sit tight and enjoy the amusing mock ups for now.
