Tales of Xillia opening will be different depending on character chosen

In tales of Tales of Xillia, the game will have a different opening to the game depending on which character you choose, confirmed producer Hideo Baba.

Speaking during a recent Tale event in Japan, Babs used the opening scenes for Jude and Milla as an example of different story perspectives with each game character. Despite the different opening sequences though, the main story in the game will remain the same for all.

Baba also said the title of the game was based on the English words “million” and “billion," which he shortened to “illion”, added an “X” to form “Xillion," and then turned it into Xillia.

He said the name represents the ‘huge number’ aspect representing the different events that occur and the people one will meet in life.

Maybe Baba just used this instead to come up with Xillia. Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Tales of Xillia launches in Japan this year on PS3. No western date just yet.
