THQ secures "multi-year extension" to Warhammer 40,000 license agreement

THQ confirmed today it's secured an extension to its Warhammer 40K license agreement with Games Workshop.

The deal extends across "all relevant platforms including core, social and mobile rights."

Since taking on 40K, THQ has published various Dawn of War games for PC, a brand which has now sold 6.5 million units to date.

Space Marine will be the next game based on the IP, releasing for 360, PS3 and PC later this year

THQ is also working on 40K MMO Dark Millennium Online, which is still some distance off.

The press release is here.
