Unpleasant Horse knocked back by Apple

The first game from PopCap's experimental games label has failed to pass Apple's requirements for App Store launch. This has ruined my morning.

A now-removed tweet from Popcap sub-label 4th & Battery announced the rejection, according to Pocket Gamer.

"WTF? Apple rejected Unpleasant Horse cuz of 'mature content?' We thought horses dying in meat grinders was wholesome family entertainment!"

But turn that frown upside down - the game is being resubmitted in a more appropriate category.

"We're appealing, though (with a higher rating) and we'll hopefully have good news for y'all soon!" a representative tweeted.

Unpleasant Horse features an evil horse taking out songbirds and nicer equines - the latter with the help of a meat grinder. It has a terrific theme song. See the trailer here.

PopCap has launched the new sub-label to allow developers to play with ideas unsuitable to the publisher's usual branding, and let off steam between major releases.
