700,000 players take part in World of Tanks beta

Wargaming.net has announced that 700,000 players have taken part in the World of Tanks beta since it began last year.

The number accounts for those playing in Europe and North America.

It's also been confirmed that 5.6 million battles took place in the beta of the FTP MMO action title, with 1.7 billion billion shells used to destroy 115 million tanks and artillery.

PCCU numbers were at 25,000.

"Comrades, we all are on the brink of an epoch-making event – World of Tanks release," said Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming.net. “You still have a couple of days to spend with your friends and families before the War breaks out… so spend it the right way.

World of Tanks fully launches next Tuesday, April 12.
