Hydorah developer Locamolito has just released its newest off-the-wall arcade title, Variax – for free.

The “medical terror arcade” game features short but sweet procedurally generated levels.

As the variax virus, your task is to infiltrate a human body and take down a last-defence nanobot mechanism installed in the brain.

Retro graphics and a chip tune soundtrack make destroying humanity as delightful as can be.

You can download the PC-only game plus an assortment of other goodies here.

Locamolito’s sh’mup Hydorah was also released for free, and won acclaim on the indie scene in 2010.

Thanks, Game Set Watch.
