Sony: PS3 the home for 3D entertainment

Sony's posted a particularly chest-beaty piece on the official US Playstation Blog outlining how it believes PS3 is the "home of all things 3D entertainment," and the leader in the 3D market.

The post comes from JT Tidwell, Sony's manager of corporate communications, and outlines some impressive facts for the PS3's 3D past and future. Did you know the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2011: The 3D Experience application has been download via PSN over 83,000 times? You do now.

The post also confirms that 20 percent of Killzone 3 SP demo downloads were for the 3D version.

On top of that, the post also goes on to underline the fact that there's going to be almost 30 full stereoscopic 3D titles available for PS3 before the end of the year, including Uncharted 3, Ratchet & Clank: All for One and recent releases Kilzone 3 and MLB 11 The Show.

Then there's movies - 3D Blu-rays and the massive number of 3D movies available as a download via PSN.

See for yourself.
