Mikami: Shadows of the Damned won't feel like Resident Evil

Feted designer Shinji Mikami has said his half of the collaboration with Goichi Suda on Shadows of the Damned is to "make sure its fun", but that it won't feel like a Mikami game.

"When you play it, especially if you've played a Resident Evil, you can kind of sense 'ah, there's a little bit of Resident Evil here,'" Mikami told Joystiq.

"But I don't think it's from the start it's a Mikami game. It's definitely a Grasshopper game."

Mikami commented that the game's style is entirely Grasshopper's province, while his own duties are mechanical.

"I'm there to make sure the gameplay is right -- make sure it's tight, make sure it's fun. That's why I'm there," he said.

"When you look at it, you're going to say this is a Grasshopper game."
