Rumour - Activision developing Dance Hero

Guitar Hero? Dead. DJ Hero? Dead. Dance Hero? It's all go, apparently.

Kotaku's reporting that Activision has started development on Dance Hero in the wake of the demises of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero last month.

The publisher trademarked the title back in 2008. It's unknown who the developer actually is.

No platforms have been mentioned for now. Some of the first songs included into the game at this point includes:

  • Jay Sean - 2012 (feat Nicki Manji)
  • The Prodigy - Out of Space
  • Timbaland - The Way I Are (feat Keri Hilson and D.O.E.)
  • Afrojack - Take Over Control (feat Evan Simon)

While the music genre has seen a decline in recent years with Guitar Hero and Rock Band, dancing is up on its way.

Earlier, Ubisoft confirmed it had sold 1 million units of Just Dance 2 in the UK since its October launch. And Harmonix boss Alex Rigopulos said last week Dance Central has now become the bigger priority in the studio than Rock Band following a strong launch for the Kinect-only title last year.
