Catherine difficulty patch nearly done

A much-requested patch to lower the difficulty of Atlus's tense puzzler Catherine is nearly ready for roll out.

Director Katsura Hashino said in a post on the game's Japanse blog, as translated by Andriasang, that the patch is in the testing phase.

The patch will add in an assist feature to the game's easy mode, and both easy and normal mode will see increases to the number of allowed retries.

Hashino suggested struggling players use the new features in conjunction with hint videos on the game's website in order to learn how to deal with difficult situations.

The new patch will be a mandatory title update but allow players to switch the new, easier features off if they choose to brave it out.

The director explained that the patch's release date would be announced soon, and that Atlus had rushed it to completion to address complaints, hinting that further, meatier updates are to come.
