Tokyo Game Show 2011 detailed

Details of this year's Tokyo Game Show have been released, and it looks to be a whopper. A couple of entirely new areas, a business summit, and a pretty delightful theme suggest we'll be like kittens in candy land come September.

This year's theme is GAME - Dancing Your Heart which like everything else sounds better in Japanese, but captures the bouncing-up-and-down-giggling delight of the TGS fairly masterfully.

Of several new additions to the show floor, the most intriguing is the brand new PC & Network Game area, likely added in response to the growing popularity of MMORPGs in a territory traditionally shy of PC gaming, and highlighting high-end rigs.

Additionally, the Mobile & Social area, Game Device (peripheral) area and Cloud & Data pavilion are all new this year.

A likely impenetrable but interesting new addition is the Asian Business Summit, while the opening of merchandise sales to all four days of the event is about as close to business as most attendees are likely to get.

Oh and yeah, there'll be some games there or something. Whatever.

There's an English exhibitor's guide on the TGS Website with some more little bits and bobs to drool over.

The show kicks off on 15 September and runs through 18 September, at Makuhari Messe, on the outskirts of Tokyo.
