THQ Australia axes 14 jobs

THQ's Australian development team has lost 14 employees in the "normal course of business".

GamesIndustry reports that staff were let go without the option to apply for other roles within THQ.

"We have let 14 employees go at our THQ Australia studio. In the normal course of business, we expect to adjust our workforce both up and down as required by project needs," a company statement confirmed.

All fourteen affected positions were part of the art department.

THQ Australia now employs 60 people. The studio works on licensed titles, which THQ has hinted will no longer be a focus.
