Final Fantasy III coming to iPhone in March

No, not the one with Terra, Locke, and Kefka. This one's still pretty neat, though. Honest!

Via its Facebook page, Square Enix went with a subtle, restrained approach in announcing Final Fantasy III's upcoming arrival on iPhone.

"FINAL FANTASY III for iPhone coming next month!!" the publisher bellowed.

Seeing as Final Fantasy III's original form - which hails from a time during which a trifling few people still believed that particular fantasy would, in fact, be final - never saw the light of day in Europe or North America, the iPhone version will probably be a port of the Nintendo DS remake. Plus, the built in touch screen support probably doesn't hurt. We'll check with Square Enix just to make sure, though.
