Atlus asks players not to spoil Catherine

Atlus has requested Catherine players not spoil the game for others, particularly the events of the eighth night onwards.

A tweet on the official Japanese Catherine feed, translated by Andriasang, advises players of a "strict no video policy" in effect until release.

Additionally, Atlus have politely requested players avoid posting videos or live feeds showing off later levels in the game which may spoil the story for others.

A second, less polite warning has been posted to the official site. The translation reads:

"Hello. I'm Sheep. Do you know of this scary rumor? Those who share spoilers about Catherine will have nightmares and die. Scary, scary. Everyone, to avoid nightmares, let's not post spoilers."

The gameplay of Catherine takes place in protagonist Vincent's nightmares, while the plot includes rumours of local deaths related to bad dreams.

Catherine releases in Japan tomorrow. Andriasang reports promotional restaurant chain Collabo Dining has teamed up with Atlus to celebrate the launch with six weeks of catherine-themed drinks and food.
