UK games sales sees YoY decrease in January

Chart-Track's said that the UK games market suffered a YoY decrease in January, with unit sales down by 13.4 percent.

Market value went down by 7.9 percent to £84.6 million, while only half a million fewer games were sold last month compared to the same period in 2010.

The biggest-selling game of the month was FIFA 11 with Call of Duty: Black Ops and Just Dance 2 behind it. Chart Track boss Dorian Bloch said that a lack of new releases contributed to the drop.

The only major profile new releases for the month were LittleBigPlanet 2 from Sony and Dead Space 2 from EA.
