GameStop employees to not get Dragon Age II demo early

Remember when all that fuss about GameStop employees getting a demo to Dragon Age II was kicked about, which showed a demo was in the works in some form? Well, it's not happening anymore.

EA has told Joystiq it has now "decided to wait to release the demo all at once on February 22nd," saying that it "originally wanted to release a version of the Dragon Age 2 demo to some of our partners early, but could not find a way to keep it exclusive."

BioWare boss Ray Muzyka added to the site: "Maybe the goal is to release them all simultaneously, because all three platforms are important to us."

Earlier this month, a demo for GameStop employees was shown to be in the works for a release today. The reason? So that staff could be "a key source of knowledge for GameStop customers and BioWare fans."

After debunking the news as "speculation," BioWare confirmed a demo release for everyone - PC, 360 and PS3 - on February 22.

Dragon Age II releases on March 8 in the US and March 11 in the UK for PS3, 360 and PC.
