MvC3 3DS "not impossible, but requires a bit of thought," says producer

Marvel vs Capcom 3 producer Ryota Niitsuma has told VideoGamer that MvC3 for 3DS isn't "impossible".

But speaking to the site at a recent event, Niitsuma said it would need "a bit of thought".

"But I don't think that directly correlates to the possibility of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 being on 3DS. Namely because, as you say, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a faster-paced game. It requires a lot more data, and it requires a lot more processing due to the many effects and up to six characters being on screen at one time," he said.

"I don't know whether having this in 3D vision is actually comfortable for the player or not."

He added: "There are a few things to think about. It's obviously not impossible, but it requires a bit of thought."

Niitsuma also revealed that Frank West of Dead Rising fame was on the character list in the game, but was cut late in development.

"As for Frank West, he was actually in the process quite deep, and in one of our high quality CG trailers he was actually part of it," he said.

"But we've taken him out, due to the fact that we've foreseen some extra work involved, just from the nature of his moves. We felt we could direct our resources to better use, so we've taken Frank out."

As for what fan-favourite characters could be added after the game's release, consider Phoenix Wright to be a favourite.

"Phoenix Wright is obviously a famous franchise - especially in Europe, actually. It would be interesting to see him, although he distinctively lacks the number of moves he might have [in a fighting game]. But if Marvel vs. Capcom 3 does well, he's definitely up on the list as one of the characters to add, given the chance."

MvC3 releases on February 18 for PS3 and 360.
