IGN review hands Dead Space 2 a solid 9, calls it "a new gold standard" in horror

IGN has posted, what we think, is the first online review of Dead Space 2, and the site said the game sets a "new gold standard" in horror. It was handed a solid 9 out of a possible score of 10 as well.

Here's an excerpt from the review:

Dead Space 2 is an amazing game. I'm going to write about its scary moments, cool kills, and how much I dig the main character's internal struggle, but Dead Space 2 is about more than this. When I beat it for the first time, I sat on the couch with my heart racing and dissected the journey I had just taken. Then, I started my second playthrough, and when that was done, I jumped into a new game for the third time. Dead Space 2 is just that good.

Good to know. We're really excited for it.

We'll throw a reviews round-up together for you when more opinions are released.

The game is out on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on January 25, and you can even get some Dragon Age 2 bonus content with it.

VG247's Australian news editor Brenna Hillier had a nice chat with Dead Space 2's producer Shereif Fattouh in Sydney today. You can check it out here, as well as the swag video featuring her lovely voice here.
