Nicolas Games has acquired Frontline Studios

Polish developer and publisher Nicolas Games has acquired Frontline Studios, which is currently working on the digital download title Arena Morte.

Frontline, also a Polish developer but with offices in Florida, previously worked on the canceled Duke Nukem Trilogy. The first game in the trilogy was Duke Nukem Critical Mass for PSP and DS.

Arena Morte is a third-person fighter and may be released digitally on consoles and PC, and possibly iOS as most of its other games.

"This is a great opportunity for us to concentrate on what we do best, making games," said Frontline CEO Marcin Michel. "Nicolas brings support through a well-managed and experienced partnership that is both respected and highly successful in our industry.

"We will now have the financial and business resources to support our growth allowing Frontline Studios to develop better and better games, while following a vision mutual to both companies," he adds.

Nicolas CEO Tomasz Majka also seems rather pleased with the deal.

Thanks, Gamasutra.
