Rumour - DSi set to be phased out

dsi14

According to a Japanese report, Nintendo is set to phase out DSi.

The console, which released in April 2009 in Europe, is no longer in production, according to the story's author. The only units left are in stock inventory.

It's also meant to be sold out in some areas in Japan.

DSi XL, however, is said to still be in production alongside the upcoming 3DS, which seems to suggest that Nintendo doesn't want to saturate the market with too many DS SKUs.

We'll email Nintendo UK for a response.

Thanks, Kotaku.
