News Corp’s online gaming chief, Sean Ryan, has moved to Facebook, taking up the newly-created role of director of game partnerships.

Ryan, a former CEO at LiveJournal and Meez, will, obviously, manage Facebook’s partnerships with third-party studios.

Ryan has been at News Corp for only five months. The Wall Street Journal (via GI) reports that talks between the exec and Facebook predated his News Corp role.

Facebook has been splattered all over the mainstream news this week thanks to an impending IPO and a valuation of $50 billion.

Facebook’s largest game is Cityville. It was reported yesterday that Zynga’s latest, merely a month from release, has attracted the biggest monthly active user count out of any Facebook game or app, tapping into an audience of over 84.2 million monthly players.
