Game Informer gained 800K subscribers in 2010, circulation hits over 4.3 million

magazine chart

GameStop's Game Informer Magazine gained an additional 800K subscribers in the last year, hitting a "paid and verified" circulation of 4,364,170, according to a report from media monitoring service BurrellesLuce.

According to the report, the magazine is just 100K or so away from passing National Geographic's subscriber base, and has landed at number seven on the chart trumping Time and Oprah's magazine O.

Last year, Game Informer was number 12 on the report's chart.

While the numbers are great, especially for the aging print medium, it's no surprise considering a subscription comes with GameStop's PowerUp Rewards Pro membership, which took the place of the company's Edge card.

Thanks, Joystiq.
