Ubi honestly launching Battle Tag in Texas today, Canada next week

Remember that weird Laser Quest-game hybrid Ubisoft announced at E3? It's actually happening.

As Joystiq reports, it's basically a physical game where you run around "shooting" each other with plastic guns. The videogame influence adds health packs, ammo crates, and multiple game modes, customizable via an included PC app.

The two player "Starter Pack" costs $129.99. It's releasing tomorrow at 15 Toys 'R' Us stores in Houston and Austin in Texas as a "test" for the US market.

The Canadian release is set for November 22, exclusively at Zellers and on Ubisoft's official website.

Warning: chances of this destroying your remaining, fragile veneer of self-esteem? High.
