Order Kinect for Christmas "by the end of this week," says Mattrick

Getting Kinect for Christmas? You may want to get a move on.

Xbox boss Don Mattrick's said in a session at the Web 2.0 summit this week that anyone buying Kinect for Christmas should do so "by the end of this week."

His comments came in a joint talk with Activision boss Bobby Kotick.

Earlier this week, Mattrick said the motion-sensing camera had sold 1 million units within its first ten days on sale in the US.

Mattrick also jokingly said in the Web 2.0 talk that Microsoft had spent what "felt like in excess of a billion" when asked how much the company spent on advertising Kinect.

Microsoft said in the past it was spending $500 million on advetising for the device.
