Sony’s delayed Gran Turismo 5 in the US, Europe and Japan, moving the racer from its previously confirmed November 2 and November 3 release dates.

No further dates have been confirmed. The game, however, will still launch by the end of the year.

SCEE’s tweeted that a new date will come by the “end of the month.”

“We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season,” read a post on the US PS Blog.

“We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.”

The Japanese GT5 site says, via machine translation, that the game will now launch in “the 2010 holiday season” in Japan.

SCEE’s released a statement saying the racer will “exceed expectations,” while also apologising for the delay.

“We are sorry to say that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 3rd, but the game will be released before Christmas,” said the company.

“We sincerely apologise to GT fans for the delay, however creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality.

“We are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches later this year. We’ll have more information for you in the near future.”

SCEE’s just tweeted it’ll have a new date before the “end of the month“:

Yes, the GT5 European has also been delayed, we are sorry to say. We expect to confirm a new release date before the end of the month.”

SCEA’s also released a statement to VG247 regarding the delay. It’s almost exactly the same as the one from SCEE, but here it is anyway:

“We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, however the game’s release will be coming this holiday season,” said the firm.

“We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

“We’ll have more information for you in the near future.”
