ffxiv

Square Enix has announced its online payment system for Final Fantasy FFXIV called Crysta won't just be for Japan, but for Europe and North America as well.

Available now in the Square-Enix Account Management System, one Crysta equals around $1/£1/€1 and can be purchased as follows:

  • 500 Crysta - $5/£-€ 5/€5
  • 1,000 Crysta - $10/£10/€10
  • 2,000 Crysta - $20/£20/€20
  • 3,000 Crysta - $30/£30/€30
  • 5,000 Crysta - $50/£50/€50
  • 10,000 Crysta - $100/£100/€100

To purchase, you can either use your PayPal account or use a time card from PlaySpan: Ultimate Pay. Some of the places you can purchase these cards include 7-Eleven, GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart to name a few if you are in the US. This is explained a bit more here through FF114 News.

There will be a cap on the number of Crysta that users can hold in their account at any one time.

“The introduction of Crysta is an exciting step for Square Enix,” said Phil Rogers, president and chief executive of Square Enix Europe. “Our business is actively looking to create new on-line entertainment and deliver high quality content and services and having a safe and simple payment method is an important part of our online strategy.”

Final Fantasy XIV launches in the US and Europe tomorrow.
